"Quiet Power" (Atlanta Chapter) - Fahamu Pecou Commissioned Art Sale

To commemorate its 70th anniversary, the Atlanta Chapter of Jack & Jill of America has partnered with iconic artist, Dr. Fahamu Pecou, to raise funds and awareness for non-profit partners that work tirelessly to address educational empowerment and Black health disparities. Dr. Pecou was commissioned to create a fine art piece ("QUIET POWER"). He was inspired by the Jack and Jill national prayer and the Atlanta Chapter's legacy of leadership, philanthropy, and service.

"Q U I E T P O W E R speaks to the noble strength and love we find in the arms of our mothers. A love that molds us long before our first breath and animates us long after her last.

Q U I E T P O W E R features a mother’s hands on her son’s shoulders in an encouraging gesture. The mother’s face is not shown as a means of drawing focus to the sanguine eyes of the boy. His gaze unbroken, he confronts his future while holding in his hand, a relic of the past. Hope is faith… in action. It is when believing transforms into being. It is the result of preparation and knowing you have the skills required to take on any challenge. Hope is your mother’s hand on your shoulder and your ancestors’ dreams in your D.N.A."

Proceeds from your purchase support The Jack and Jill Foundation, as well as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Black Women’s Health Imperative / SiS Circles.

Limited edition, signed and numbered, lithographic-style digital prints of the commissioned painting will be available for purchase accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
